BEAUT Podcasts VOL 1&2

Last year I created BEAUT Podcast Vol 1 (10 episodes) and this year I have continued to create BEAUT Podcast Vol 2. I am still grappling with the technology and testing different microphones, software and file types. I use garage band along with keynote to create the podcasts. Enhanced podcasts are my favorite although I have found if you add too much text it can't be seen on an ipod screen but can be seen on the computer. So my podcasts are better to be watched and listened to on your computer if you want to see the grahics and click on the website links I add.

I take many screen shots for my graphics and I have only recently discovered that as they save as png files they take up a huge space. So in future I'll be converting them to jpegs. I have been aware that some of my podcasts seem to be too large.

Episode 14- Maths Smorgasbord was made by dragging my keynote into profcast and then giving a commentry on the slide show. Unfortunatley I should have used the forward arrow instead of the space bar to go to the next slide as there is a clicking noise. I hope you can use one of the suggested activities in your class.

My greatest problem is finding a quiet place to record which has meant that sometimes I create very late at night when all others in the house are asleep. Of course the other problem with getting regular podcasts out is finding the time to create them.

If you would like to leave a comment or a suggestion for future podcasts use this blog and add your comment.

Beaut Blogging

Beaut Blogging
I hope everyone is having a relaxing holiday. I am working on the next podcast as well as a few DVD’s for school.
Did anyone use the new reporting system? I have only seen the end result with my two sons. It is interesting seeing it without using it and I wonder if I will think differently the next time reports come out and I have used the new reporting system. How did you find the new report system. Did you do them on a Mac?

BEAUT event 4

Hello everyone,

Hope you enjoyed our event 4 today. iTunes has some good features and once you get used to the iApps features they are almost the same in all iApps. I use my ipod a lot with itunes so I can listen to all kinds of stuff in the car on the way to work or travelling to Melbourne etc. Oh and on the tread mill it's easier with music or an interesting podcast.

I would like some feedback on our events and some suggestions on what else you would like to know about or learn to do on your laptops. Do you want some help with a problem you have on your laptop?

I hope to have beaut podcast 4 out next weekend and have some more interviews, ICTEV'S teacher of the year Christine Trimnell, John Pearce(Science guru and ex Bendigonian) and David Patrou from Apple.

I'm looking forward to some comments,
Cheers from jenny

The first blog

Hello and welcome to my first blog. This week I made a podcast with my Prep/1 grade. It is the alphabet book. They love to hear their voices in the podcast. We passed the ipod around with an italk and each student said the letter and picture for the page we were up to. I added the graphics into the podcast to match the letters. Lastly I added a bit of an intro and some jingles at the start and end. Now I just have to figure out how to get it to work from our website. I can send the podcast to a .mac account but I want a link on our home page to the podcast. There must be something I miss because it can't find the file. Hopefully at the podcasting day Apple will have some tips for me.
